Parker Playhouse: performing for Fort Lauderdale
Whether it's Broadway musicals, renowned musicians in concert, popular comedians or children's shows, the Parker Playhouse provides Broward County with great performances. You may even see a mixed martial arts display!
Variety performances like the Senior Idol competition (a play on American Idol featuring seniors in South Florida) and Florida's Singing Sons keep the community actively engaged in theater.
Community is the centerpiece for Parker Playhouse. Children will be enchanted with puppet shows and sing-alongs, while adults may enjoy jazz, comedy, or dance performances.
The Parker Playhouse opened in 1967 and is now managed by the Broward Center for Performing Arts. There are more than 1,100 seats in the theater, and the neoclassical design and hall of local artists keep the playhouse a community-favorite venue.

The playhouse walls are lined with local artists' work, and the interior is decorated with class and style. Drinks and snacks are available before and during the performances. Parker opens 1.5 hours before each show begins. Affiliated venues are Broward Center for Performing Arts, Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center, and Miramar Cultural Center.
